Frequently asked questions

What is "locked rent" on Solana?

Every token you hold or once held lives in its own token account, and Solana requires each account to keep a small SOL deposit (rent) so it stays on-chain. Older accounts hold about 0.00204 SOL each. When you sell a token, the empty account — and its deposit — stays behind. Closing it sends that SOL back to you.

Is SolRent safe? Do you ever get access to my wallet?

SolRent is non-custodial. Scanning only needs your public address. To recover, your own wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack…) shows you every transaction and you approve it. We never see your private key or seed phrase, we cannot move funds, and every transaction is simulated before you sign. Funds go only to your wallet; the only other transfer is our disclosed fee.

What does it cost?

Scanning is free. When you recover, a 12% fee is taken from the recovered SOL inside the same transaction — if nothing is recovered, you pay nothing. Pro members pay 5%. You also pay the normal Solana network fee (a fraction of a cent per transaction).

What is "excess rent" and why is it new?

In 2026 Solana started lowering the rent deposit (SIMD-0437). Accounts created before the change still hold the old, higher deposit. The difference can be withdrawn without closing the account, so you keep the tokens and still get SOL back. SolRent finds and withdraws it for Token-2022 accounts today, and more as the network rolls the change out.

Will you burn tokens that still have value?

No. Tokens with a real market value above $5 are left alone. Small balances with a market ("dust") are swapped to SOL through Jupiter with slippage protection. Only tokens with no market or no liquidity are offered for burning, and burning is always your choice — it is irreversible, so SolRent shows you exactly what will be burned.

What about NFTs and staked tokens?

NFTs, frozen accounts, confidential balances and tokens with special transfer rules are skipped. SolRent only touches accounts where the action is safe and simple.

How much SOL can I expect?

It depends on how much you trade. A wallet that has touched 500 different tokens typically has around 1 SOL locked in empty accounts. Active memecoin traders often find several SOL. Scan for free to see your exact number.

Where do SolRent's fees go?

50% of every recovery fee and every Pro payment is used to buy back and burn the SolRent token. The live amount set aside so far is shown on the home page and the stats page, counted only from fees verified on-chain.

How does the referral program work?

Share your link. When someone recovers SOL through it, 20% of our fee goes straight to your wallet inside the same transaction — paid on-chain, instantly, forever.
