How referrals are paid
Your link is simply solrent.app with your wallet address added as ?ref=. There is no sign-up and no account: the wallet in the link is where payouts go.
When someone uses your link
The visitor's browser remembers your link for 30 days. If they recover SOL in that time, the recovery transaction includes a transfer of 20% of SolRent's fee straight to your wallet, alongside their recovered SOL and the fee itself.
A worked example
A visitor recovers 2 SOL without Pro. The 12% fee is 0.24 SOL, and 20% of that, 0.048 SOL, goes to you in the same transaction. The visitor pays nothing extra for having used your link.
Why it can be trusted
Because the payout is part of the recovery transaction, you can check every one on a Solana explorer. There is no balance held by SolRent, no minimum payout and nothing to withdraw.
Questions
Can I use my own referral link?
No. A link whose wallet is the same as the recovering wallet is ignored, so self-referrals earn nothing.
Where should I share my link?
Anywhere people ask how to get SOL back from their wallet. Please be clear that it is a referral link; undisclosed or spammy promotion gets links removed from most communities.
Do referrals cost the visitor more?
No. The referral share comes out of SolRent's fee, not the visitor's recovery.
